Winter care foods

Winter is the season of diseases for weak people, they are caught easily by cold ,cough and joint pains. The diseases are due to cold so body needsCheat, so eat foods that give heat to the body is important

Gond ladoo The nuts, gond, jaggery give heat to the body, dry fruits clean the body system.


Elaichi tea
 crush 2 elaichi and 2 clove and boil in water add sugar and tea leaves boil and cover for some time to get the essence, can make with milk or without milk, we are making and drinking this without milk,
can add fresh ginger grates to this with clove, but I found this is not suitable for proper relief for cold, taste is good, get some relief for cold, but not got full healing, so I omitted it. Experiment with ginger is it suitable for your cold or not.

Clove water
Drinking hot clove and elaichi water is best to control cold and cough
3 clove, 2 elaichi crush and boil in 2 kg water and store in flask, drink as necessary

Get rid off cold
crush 1 clove, 1 elaichi, 1pinch ajwain, 1/4tsp jeera, 2pinch of methi, 1/2 inch cinnamon or 2 bay leaves, 2 cloves of garlic, 1inch ginger boil in 2-3 kg water. steep for 15 minutes .store in flask , drink as necessary.

Chana dosa


2 cup chana, 2 cup raw rice , 1/2 cup urad dal, 2 tsp methi soak and grind and ferment and make dosa, it is is good for cold and cough people, chana will give proper heat to the body. as urad increase cold and cough
use medium size tea cup/ 150 gm for this measurement.

Jeera rotti/chappathi/paratha

Add 1/2 tsp jeera, 1/8 t black salt, 1/4 tsp chat masala, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp mustard/til oil add water and wheat flour 1/2 kg and mix well.cover 30 minutes and make paratha, drop 1tsp oil on each side after 3/4th cooked and cook one more minute. serve with achar or curd or raita

Gond ladoo/Get rid of winter diseases

Gond ladoo,

50gm each of sesame, cashew, badam, pista,
gond 50 gm
100 gm dry date,
25 gm walnut,
jaggery syrup of 250 gm jaggery plus water
elaichi 3
ginger powder 1 t
ghee 50- 100 gm , I used 50 gm
roast gond in 1- 2 tb ghee cool and grind  again roast the powder.

Each  of the nuts and sesame roast seperately and grind  to powder or coarse powder
roast dry dates and crush remove seeds and grind with dry ginger, elaichi
little roast anjeer and cut into small pieces and grind
Mix all nut and dry fruit powders and grind again


heat ghee 50 gm and roast 3 big cups/750 gm wheat flour
add all powders and mix well , add this to hot jaggery syrup and mix well to get uniform if need heat it.
cool a little and make ladoos with wet hand in water
store and eat 1ladoo in morning with milk
 good for cold, cough and winter diseases.
