neem oil, egg white and Kadhir gold soap are mixed together in 4 liter water. It is then sprayed on the plant/tree leaves.
Jaggery, fish waste water, and sour buttermilk are the key ingredients of this solution. 5 kg fish waste is mixed in 5 liters of sour buttermilk. The liquid is allowed to
ferment for 10-15 days in a plastic barrel. It is stirred periodically. Once the liquid is fermented, it is then filtered and sprayed through a sprayer.

Panchagavya
Every week about 2 litres of cow’s urine diluted in about 6 litres of water was sprayed. In addition Panchagavyaspray was also done once a month. For optimum space usage rudimentary pandals (wooden structures) were made between the furrows to grow some vegetables such as double beans. Onions and tomatoes were grown along the borders of the furrows. At present I am able to harvest about 10 kgs of all the vegetables and 30 to 50 bundles of greens a week.
About five kg of fresh cow dung, three litres of cow’s urine, two litres of cow’s milk, curd (made from cow’s milk) and toddy each, 500 gm of cow’s ghee, three litres of sugarcane juice and tender coconut water each and 12 bananas. Cow dung and ghee are mixed well in a plastic drum and covered with a lid. For three days the mixture should be stirred well once during the morning and evening. On the fourth day all the other inputs are added and stirring continued for 15 days.

Five leaf extract
For example she uses 5 different leaf extracts (eindhu ilai karaisal in Tamil) derived from Calotropis (called yerukku in Tamil), Jatropha curcas (kattu amanaku in Tamil), Neem (vembu in Tamil), Guduchhi/Amruth (seenthil kodi in Tamil), Chaste tree (nochi in Tamil), Malabar nut (adathoda in Tamil), Kalmegh (siriyanangai in Tamil), Clerodendron (peenarisanghu in Tamil) and Usil (arappu in Tamil). These plants are commonly found in all villages. About 1 kg of leaves from each plant is taken and powdered and then ground into a paste. It is then mixed with 5 litres of cow’s urine.
The concoction is then diluted in 5 litres of water and left undisturbed for 5 days. When required for using about 500 ml of this concoction is diluted in 10 litres of water and sprayed over the plants, she explains.
Ginger garlic extract
Another tried and proven mixture she uses is ginger garlic extract (called inji poondu karaisal in Tamil). About 1 gm of ginger and garlic each, 2gm of green chilli and 5 litres of cow’s urine and water are taken. The garlic, ginger and green chilli are ground into a paste and mixed with cow’s urine and water. After 10 days the mixture is filtered and used.
The prescribed quantity is about 500 ml of this solution diluted in 10 litres of water which can be sprayed over the plants.
Ideal spraying time
The ideal time for spraying these karasals is during 6 am to 8.30 am and between 4 pm and 6.30 pm. Depending upon the soil, crop and other climatic factors the concentration can be raised or lowered.

Fermented curd water (Butter milk,
chaach) – Fermented curd water is widely
being used in central India for controlling the
pest of cooton. To make this, burry an earthen
pot in soil till neck and fill it with fresh de-feted
butter milk and seal with mud plaster. Allow it
to ferment for 20 days, then dilute with water
and use as spray for managing white fly,
jassids and aphids.
Fermented Curd Water In many states of rural India milk production is the main occupation associated with the farming also known as dairy management. The dairy products can also prove a major alternative in controlling the insects and pests in farmlands. One of the dairy product known as butter milk or Chaach can be used for this purpose. It is made by the centrifugation of curd in which byproduct ghee (fats) is also obtained. There is much greater demand of butter milk in the summer season and it gets distasteful if it is kept for more than two days. This distasteful butter milk can be used to make the extract. Preparation and application: – Take the distasteful butter milk and add equal amount of water in it. Keep it for two days in a semi-shaded place. Now take it and add 40 liter of water in 10 liter of the extract to form 50 liter of the solution. Spray this solution in 1 hectare of field in such a way that all plants get bath in the fogging spray in the early morning time.
