soak chana 1cup/250 gm and white urad 50 gm or 1 handful,with turmeric 1/4 tsp in hot water for 1 hour after that wash and cook till 1st whistle in cooker and slower the flame for 10 minutes and switch off flame.
For tempering
heat oil in a pan add jeera, black pepper little, clove 3, cinamon 1 piece, slice 1 onion, and add, ginger, garlic green chilly as necessary add to it, add garlic tender plant like spring onion, slice and add to it, add 1.5 tsp chilly powder, 1tsp salt add 1 tomato and saute, add to dal mix, boil once to mix the flavors well, garnish with coriader leaves and give a mix , cover for 5 minutes and serve
